Overview
HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) is a compression-molded polyethylene product widely used for food contact applications due to its hygienic properties.
Depending on density, polyethylene is categorized as follows:
- HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene): Rigid polyethylene with high density
- LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene): Flexible polyethylene with lower density
Characteristics
- Excellent resistance to most acids and alkalis
- Superior electrical insulation properties
- Easy to weld
- Certified for food contact applications (compliant with food hygiene standards)
- Usable within a temperature range of –50°C to +90°C, with excellent low-temperature performance
- Completely non-polar, making it difficult to bond with adhesives or print on the surface
Applications
Explosives storage facilities, hoppers, chutes, silo linings, bushings, gears, rollers, guides, etc.
