Overview
Teflon is the most representative fluororesin, accounting for 60% of total fluororesin demand. It features outstanding heat resistance, cold resistance, chemical resistance, low friction, non-adhesiveness, and electrical properties, making it an exceptionally unique material. Due to its superior characteristics, it is mainly used in applications requiring multiple properties simultaneously (e.g., heat resistance + electrical properties, chemical resistance + heat resistance, non-adhesiveness + heat resistance). Typical applications include uses in the chemical and semiconductor industries where chemical and solvent resistance is essential.
Characteristics
- Continuous Operating Temperature = 260℃
Suitable for continuous use under high temperatures. - Low Friction Property
Exhibits the lowest coefficient of friction among all solid materials. - Exceptional Chemical Resistance
Unaffected by almost all chemicals. - Electrical Properties
Excellent dielectric constant and low dissipation factor. - Non-Absorptive
Water absorption and permeability are nearly zero. - Excellent Weatherability and Non-Adhesiveness
Applications
- Semiconductor manufacturing equipment (valves, cocks, joints, packings, bellows, gaskets, tubes, linings, filters, etc.)
- General machinery and automotive parts (bearings, sliding guide pipes, etc.)
- Automotive components (fuel caps, radiator drain cocks, remote control side mirrors)
- Electrical insulation materials (tapes, films, connectors, terminals, wire coverings, etc.)
