PSU

Overview

Suitable for use over a wide temperature range, with excellent thermal and electrical insulation properties, hydrolysis resistance, and radiation stability.

Features

PSU 1000 Polysulfone is an amber-colored, semi-transparent engineering thermoplastic.

Compared to polycarbonate, it offers superior mechanical and electrical properties, as well as excellent chemical resistance. One of the key features of polysulfone is its ability to maintain relatively consistent physical properties across a broad temperature range, from -150℉ (-100℃) to 300℉ (150℃).

PSU 1000 Polysulfone has low moisture absorption and can be continuously used in hot water and steam environments up to 300℉ (150℃).

Its flame resistance is rated UL94-V-0 at 1/4″ thickness (6.35 mm) and UL94-V-2 at 1/8″ thickness (3.175 mm).

PSU 1000 Polysulfone outperforms polycarbonate in applications requiring higher temperature resistance, chemical resistance, or high-pressure steam sterilization. It is typically used in analytical instruments, medical devices, and semiconductor processing equipment.

Food-grade PSU 1000 is available in custom colors upon request.

Food-grade PSU 1000 complies with FDA, MSF, 3A-Dairy, and USP Class VI standards.

Applications

Steam Cleaning Equipment Inserts
Inserts made from PSU 1000 polysulfone reduce chemical attack on nylon distribution blocks in hot water and steam cleaning equipment.
(Previous material: Nylon)

Manifolds
Manifolds machined from PSU 1000 sheet are optically clear, allowing for sterilization via radiation and providing durability without cracking or breaking due to environmental factors.

Distributor Valves
In poultry processing, PSU 1000 components used in processing lines offer chemical resistance and minimal expansion.
(Previous material: Stainless steel)

Medical Equipment Components
Machined components made from PSU 1000 polysulfone are suitable for dialysis equipment and can endure repeated high-pressure steam sterilization cycles.
(Previous assembly: Stainless steel)
