UHMWPE

Overview

Manufactured by Germany’s ORBILAN using state-of-the-art production techniques and accumulated raw material know-how, ORBILAN UHMWPE is a product recognized worldwide for its superior technology and quality in the ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene industry.

Characteristics

Highest Impact Resistance
Among plastic materials, UHMWPE offers the highest impact resistance.

-Exceptional Wear Resistance
UHMWPE surpasses engineering plastics such as POM and Nylon 6 as well as stainless steel in abrasion resistance.

-Self-Lubricating
It has a very low coefficient of friction—only 0.07 without lubrication. When lubricated, the coefficient can go as low as 0.04.

-Chemical Resistance
UHMWPE withstands approximately 80 types of chemicals. It is not affected by most corrosive substances, except for strong acids like concentrated sulfuric and nitric acid.

Extremely Low Moisture Absorption
Ideal for environments where contact with water is common.

-Continuous Use Temperature = 80°C
-Low-Temperature Use = -100°C

-Cryogenic Properties
Continuous use at cryogenic temperatures down to -270°C, while maintaining excellent impact and wear resistance.

-Non-Toxic
Safe for direct contact with food. Certified by the FDA.
