Bakelite

Overview

Bakelite is a type of thermosetting resin based on fillers, lubricants, and curing agents. It is supplied in powder form, and the molded products are cost-effective, easy to mold, and versatile. They offer a beneficial combination of heat resistance, solvent resistance, and chemical resistance. It is generally classified into General Bakelite and Fabric Bakelite (which contains fabric within the sheet), and each is selected based on the application and environment.

Features

  • Excellent electrical insulation, making it suitable for use as an insulator.
  • High flexural strength and heat resistance, ideal for mechanical and electronic components.
  • Good moisture resistance reduces warping during storage and allows for effective low-temperature punching.
  • Flame-retardant products approved with UL-94 HB and V0 ratings.

Applications
· Molded products: Electronic, electrical, mechanical, shipbuilding, automotive components
· Laminated products: Electrical insulation boards, circuit boards
· Others: Thermal insulation, abrasives, adhesives for plywood, casting molds
